After Military Evasion Allegations, Darren Wang Involved in Attempted Murder Case

LayarHijau.com—Darren Wang Dalu has recently become embroiled in a case involving the alleged forgery of medical documents for heart disease to evade military service. The situation has escalated, as it was revealed on March 4 that he has been transferred by the police to the prosecutor's office for investigation on charges of "attempted murder."

Taiwanese media reported that prior to this, Darren Wang had flown back to Taiwan and called a taxi through an online platform to pick him up at the airport. However, he was dissatisfied with the vehicle sent, deeming it inadequate, and complained about the driver's unpleasant attitude.

Ordinary people might simply leave a bad review for the driver, but Darren Wang is clearly not an "ordinary person." He vented his frustrations to some well-connected friends, seeking extreme revenge. As a result, his friends brutally beat up the driver and the platform dispatcher, leaving both of them severely injured, according to Sohu.

After the police received reports from the victims, the investigation faced difficulties because the victims did not recognize their attackers. However, while the prosecutor was investigating Wang Dalu's military evasion case, they discovered from a confiscated phone that Darren Wang had boasted about assaulting the driver to his friends. There was even footage showing the assailants recording the condition of the victim after the beating.

On March 3, the prosecutor directed the police to arrest Wang Dalu, who was suspected of incitement, along with a man surnamed You who committed the violent act. After questioning, they were taken to the prosecutor's office on March 4 on suspicion of attempted murder.

Justice's net is vast, and this time, Darren Wang has ensnared himself with his own actions.

Wang Dalu's military evasion was revealed on February 18, when he spent about 220,000 yuan to enlist the help of a criminal group to forge medical certificates. Initially, no one was aware of this issue, but when the group's leader was arrested, the related evidence fell into police hands, leading to the arrest of the involved personnel one by one.

In Darren Wang's case, the incident occurred before he had a chance to submit the fake medical documents. Since Wang Dalu is already 33 years old, the Taipei City Military Service Bureau has arranged for him to join the military on March 13, in accordance with the Military Service Act, which states that the deferral period for conscription is until the age of 33.

After the case was re-examined by the prosecutor, Darren Wang was released on bail of NT$150,000 (approximately RMB 33,000) and is restricted from leaving the country. Now, with the suspicion of "attempted murder," this unexpected situation means his military obligations must be postponed.

If convicted, Darren Wang will have to complete his military service after serving his sentence. When news of his military evasion broke, there was not much public condemnation, but now, with allegations of "attempted murder," his career may be at an end.

Half an hour after the news of the attempted murder allegations surfaced, Darren Wang's agent responded to the media with a statement: "Thank you for your hard work; everything is under investigation. Thank you," addressing the news of Darren Wang's involvement in the case with a humble demeanor.
