The speculation about their relationship arose after a netizen posted on Weibo, stating that the two had secretly developed feelings for each other while filming the variety show "Ma Hua te Kaixin." The netizen alleged that Shen, who is 16 years older than Lin, even tried to help her career by recommending her to TV and film producers.
In response to the rumors, Lin's agency stated that the whole matter was fabricated.
