Li Yunrui and Meng Ziyi Discuss the Impact of the Popularity of the Drama "Blossom" on Their Careers

LayarHijau.com—The Chinese drama "Blossom," which aired last year, achieved phenomenal popularity. This success has undoubtedly affected its two main actors, Meng Ziyi and Li Yunrui.

In an interview, Li Yunrui revealed that "Blossom" has attracted a large audience, and after the show became popular, he now has many more options compared to before.

He reminisced about the tough times at the beginning of his career, including the preparation and filming of "Creation of the Gods" and "Love Like the Galaxy." Li Yunrui joked that at that time, there weren't many choices for him. "Before, there were no options; it was all about struggling," he said, as quoted by Sohu.

Meng Ziyi expressed similar sentiments. Following the popularity of "Blossom," she received numerous script offers, leaving her overwhelmed.

Meng Ziyi's popularity has surged sharply due to her role in this drama. Her current situation is in stark contrast to her early career days. In 2019, she co-starred in the phenomenal drama "The Untamed."

Unfortunately, while the two leads of that drama, Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo, experienced a rise in popularity parallel to "The Untamed," Meng Ziyi did not enjoy the same fortune.

Instead, she became a target of hate for her involvement in the show. There were rumors circulating online claiming that she had bribed the production team to add scenes without permission and even had emotional scenes with Xiao Zhan that were not aired. These rumors made Meng Ziyi a target of attacks from fans of the drama, and she was accused of being a "star who added drama."

Photos of her getting a manicure during filming were also leaked by netizens, further deepening the negative perception of her in the public eye. In the face of these rumors and attacks, Meng Ziyi opted to apologize and deny the accusations that she brought money into the group. However, her apology was not believed by many.

In the entertainment industry, where truth and lies are often hard to distinguish, rumors tend to spread faster and wider than the truth. Meng Ziyi endured immense pressure and pain as a result. Nevertheless, she consistently chose to remain silent and humble.

She did release a statement denying the allegations that she added scenes to her role in the drama, but this statement did not have a positive impact.

When asked about the change in public perception of her following the success of "Blossom," she candidly responded, "I am not a bad person. I also think I am quite likable, so I believe it’s natural for people to like me."

She added, "I think audiences are becoming more tolerant now, and they might allow people with various personalities to exist."

It seems Meng Ziyi's response indirectly addresses the hate she previously received due to negative rumors surrounding "The Untamed." Despite all the challenges she faced, Meng Ziyi is now proving that she is capable of rising above and sustaining her career in the dynamic world of entertainment.
