Princess Agents Season 2: Rebirth Officially Announces Li Yunrui and Huangyang Tiantian as Main Cast

LayarHijau—Today, after two years of rumors about a sequel to Princess Agents, the drama team has officially announced the main cast for the upcoming series. 

The drama is titled Princess Agents: Rebirth and will star Li Yunrui as Shuge Yue and Huangyang Tiantian as Chu Qiao. Zhang Kangle will play Ya Xun. Filming for the drama has started today. 

Princess Agents: Rebirth will air on iQiyi and is directed by Lu Haojiji, known for his work on The Double and Go Princess Go. 

Chinese Weibo users have been discussing Huangyang Tiantian's casting as Chu Qiao, noting her previous role as young Chu Qiao in Season 1, which starred Zhao Liying and Lin Gengxin. Some users expressed concern that she is too young and inexperienced for the role, suggesting the team should have chosen an actress aged 25-30 instead. Many find it hard to accept her stepping into such an iconic character. 

Similar sentiments were shared regarding Li Yunrui being cast as Zhuge Yue. One user commented that Lin Gengxin’s portrayal of Yuwen Yue is irreplaceable. 

However, there are still plenty of netizens in China who are excited about the sequel and its cast. They believe this drama poses a challenge for the director, screenwriter, and actors, especially given the phenomenal success of Season 1. 

Synopsis of Princess Agents: Rebirth 

According to the official page on Douban, Ice Lake Rebirth tells the story of friendship, betrayal, and resilience among characters like Chu Qiao, Yan Xun, and Zhuge Yue. 

After being saved by Yan Xun, Chu Qiao's loyalty is tested when Yan Xun uses her in a deadly ambush against Zhuge Yue. Their fall into the ice lake marks a turning point, igniting Chu Qiao's desire for revenge as she believes Zhuge Yue is dead.
