Netflix Acquires Exclusive Streaming Rights for Chinese Romantic Comedy 'Perfect Match'

LayarHijau.com—Netflix has secured exclusive rights to stream the ancient romantic comedy series Perfect Match. This show offers a warm and lighthearted story filled with clever dialogue and contemporary takes on romantic and family relationships.

Set during the reign of Renzong in the Northern Song Dynasty, Perfect Match follows the five beautiful daughters of the Li family, whose cheerful nature—passed down from their mother, Madame Li (Ni Hong-jie)—has earned them the nickname "The Six Tigers of the Li Family."

Madame Li is a wealthy matriarch from Luo-yang who takes immense pride in her five stunning daughters. The eldest, Shou-hua (Liu Xie-ning), is a dutiful young widow who isn’t interested in remarrying. The third daughter, Kang-ning (Lu Yu-xiao), is independent and strong-willed, earning her the nickname "The Rogue Tiger." The fourth daughter, Hao-de (Ke Ying), is brutally honest, while the youngest, Le-shan (Huang Yang Tian-tian), is naive, impulsive, and the most spirited of the bunch.

“I developed a deep emotional bond with my five on-screen daughters during the months we filmed together, both on and off set,” Ni Hong-jie said in a statement reported by Forbes. “On set, we’re like mother and daughters; off-screen, we’re more like friends. They’re full of energy, and the cheerful atmosphere on set every day truly gave me great comfort."

“The most memorable part of being on set is just how lively it is! Each scene involves a lot of actors, and we often gather to chat, filling the space with laughter and joy. Even the set decorations reflect everyday life, giving us a warm and authentic experience of being in a bustling family setting,” said Lu Yu-xiao.

Perfect Match is executive produced by Yu Zheng (Story of Yanxi Palace, Beauty's Rival in Palace) and directed by Yang Huan through Huanyu Entertainment. The official launch date on Netflix hasn’t been announced yet.

In China, the drama will air on Hunan TV and Mango TV. It’s still unclear whether Mango TV will stream the show in Indonesia and other countries or if international audiences will only be able to watch it on Netflix.
