Tian Jiarui is currently capturing the audience's attention with his role as Zhuo Yichen, a high-ranking official in the demon-catching bureau in the drama Fangs of Fortune. In an exclusive interview with Sohu, Tian shared the reasons behind accepting this role and the challenges he faced, including emotionally charged scenes that left a lasting impression.
When asked why he accepted this role, Tian Jiarui revealed that discussions with the production team played a key role. "They mentioned that this character is very different from my previous roles. What touched me the most is that one person plays two characters," he explained. He felt challenged and eager to explore a deeper and more complex character.
He previously portrayed Guo Yuan Zhi in the drama My Journey to You, also directed by Edward Guo. The striking difference between Zhuo Yichen and his earlier character, Gong Yuan Zhi, lies in their personalities and backgrounds. Zhuo Yichen is depicted as someone with a strong sense of justice and a rich history, while Gong Yuan Zhi is lighter and more romantic in nature. Zhuo Yichen is also more serious and committed to his principles, making him a more complex and challenging character to portray.
In this drama, Tian Jiarui not only showcases his impressive acting skills but also conveys deep emotions through many tearful scenes. Regarding this, he humbly stated, "I just cried naturally; it wasn't intentional. The tears fell on their own, and maybe the lighting was good at that moment, so it looked beautiful."
Looking to the future, Tian Jiarui expressed his desire to take on more challenging roles, particularly characters with dual personalities and split identities. He believes such roles would be more powerful and fulfilling for him as an actor. "I think this would be more interesting and provide a deeper experience," he said.
With his enthusiasm and commitment to the art of acting, Tian Jiarui demonstrates that he is ready to face new challenges and further develop his skills in the world of acting.
